Phi Beta Lambda Wins Big

Colorado Springs, Colo. – April 25, 2013 – The Pikes Peak Community College (PPCC) chapter of the Phi Beta Lambda business and computer club won awards in 10 competitions at the Colorado State Leadership Conference in Denver in early April.

PPCC students took first place in business law, computer concepts, financial analysis & decision-making and project management; second place in contemporary sports issues and macroeconomics; and third place in accounting analysis & decision-making, business communication, financial concepts, and statistical analysis.

They outperformed teams from several two and four-year colleges and universities and will continue on to Anaheim, Calif. in June to represent Colorado at the national competition.

Phi Beta Lambda is the college-level affiliate of Future Business Leaders of America. Students are given the opportunity to experience professional development through resume writing, interviewing, business etiquette workshops, community volunteerism and competitions related to their areas of interest.The PPCC chapter has 16 members.

Pikes Peak Community College, in its 45th year of operation, is a two-year college offering associate’s degrees and various certifications in career and technical fields. With four campuses, two military education centers in El Paso county and more than 200 programs of study, PPCC serves approximately 22,000 students annually.
