Interior Design ImageAdd Some Color to Your Life

Even in your wildest dreams did you imagine that shopping could be your career? With a degree in Interior Design, you can experiment with color, fabric, light and space to bring a room to life. Whether working with private homes or corporate offices, there is always a job for someone who can bring out the beauty in every environment.

An interior designer is an artist who works in fabric, fibers, texture, color, space, light, and scale. A designer’s broad scope of responsibility extends to working with architects, general contractors, and purchasing agents to ensure the successful completion of new buildings and homes as well as renovation projects. Professionals in this field apply their knowledge of design principles and styles; lighting; acoustics; color coordination; furnishings/textiles; structural design; and human factors to prepare residential and commercial designs.

New product development and research technology create interesting and fast-paced technical careers offering challenges and rewards to creative individuals. An individual with a degree can generate drawings, finish schedules, furnishing plans, budget sheets, and color boards. This career demands creativity, artistic talent, and imagination, good problem-solving skills, an ability to work independently and under pressure, good business sense, and the ability to communicate your ideas both visually and verbally.
