Nursing imageBe In-Demand

We are in the midst of a national shortage of nurses, which means that there will be an abundance of jobs in this field for many years to come. With your degree in Nursing, you will not only ensure a healthy financial future for yourself, you’ll be saving lives in the process. After you complete your education, you can mind meaningful work anywhere in the world.

If you have a strong desire to help others, and are interested in working to relieve suffering, promote health, prevent disease, and help people cope with illness and injury, you could be a wonderful Nurse. You will care for the sick and injured, and help people stay well and improve the quality of their lives, by providing for the physical, mental, and emotional needs of people in a variety of medical or home settings. When providing direct patient care, you will observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress; assist physicians during treatments and examinations; administer medications; and assist in convalescence and rehabilitation.

Nurses develop and manage nursing care plans, and instruct patients and their families in proper care. They help individuals and groups take steps to improve or maintain their health. Individual work settings determine their day-to-day job duties. Nursing Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses have more limited ranges of job tasks, and generally work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Your caring and compassion, ability to work well with all different kinds of people, sense of responsibility, good judgment and emotional stability will make you a tremendous asset to the health care professions.
