Mission Statement
Our mission is to equip our students with the skills necessary to achieve their goals. Our Art Department faculty are all accomplished studio artists and scholars in their fields of expertise. We are dedicated to creating an environment where students can develop their skills, find their "voice" and move towards their career goals while studying in a warm supportive atmosphere. Academically, we teach our students to research, to analyze and  to synthesize information with the highest possible expectation of scholastic veracity. Creatively, we ellicit integrity and distinction while teaching concept development, technical mastery, critical analysis, and originality. Our Art students are offered opportunities to exhibit artwork at the  college as well as at professional venues, to interact with students from  Art Departments throughout the state, to work in collaboration with each other on public art projects  and on Cross-Disciplinary art projects. The PPCC Art Department is a community where excellence and dynamic challenges are the norm and where the rewards are artistic distinction and the solid foundation with which students can celebrate their potentials.
We expose our students to the broad world of possibility offered in the Visual Arts while guiding them towards a productive profession in the field of their choice.
