Student CE Success Checklist

Meet with your high school counselor to fill out all the applications for CE students:

  • Apply to PPCC
    • It is very important to follow the detailed application instructions for high school students.
    • To complete the PPCC application, the following parent information will be needed:
      • Colorado Driver’s License or Colorado ID number and date of last renewal.
      • Month and Year of in-state residency and dates of any extended absences from Colorado.
      • Dates of the last two years for which Colorado Income taxes have been filed.
      • Dates of the last two years of Colorado Motor Vehicle and Voter Registration.
    • To complete the PPCC application, the following student information will be needed:
      • Social Security Number (input only by student/parent).
  • Apply for the Colorado Opportunity Fund (COF).
  • If you are a male, at least 17 years and 3months old, register with Selective Service at www.sss.gov.

Continue working with your high school counselor:

  • Review your eligibility and select possible courses that fit within your interests, high school graduation requirements, and schedule.
  • Check courses prerequisites and degree programs from the PPCC Catalog.

Submit test scores:

  • ACT Scores may be faxed to the High School Programs office (719.502.3040) or delivered to the testing center at any campus. The following minimum scores waive developmental coursework
    • Reading – 17, overrides REA 090 pre-requisite
    • English – 18, overrides ENG 090 pre-requisite
    • Math  – 19, please contact the High School Programs office for specific math placement
  • The Accuplacer test is available at any PPCC campus for students who have not taken the ACT test or for those students who would like the opportunity to achieve a higher placement level.
    • Testing information
      • The initial Accuplacer test is free; however, students must provide a photo ID and their PPCC student number (S#).

 Register for classes:

  • Students 17-years-old and older may register for courses.
    • Follow the Secure Access Login information located near the center of the page.
  • Students under the age of 17 must contact the High School Programs office or their high school for assistance with course registration. Please do not try to register at Enrollment Services at any PPCC campus. All registration for students under the age of 17 must go through the High School Programs office.

Complete the Concurrent Enrollment form with your high school counselor:

  • Make sure all the appropriate parties have signed the agreement.
  • Submit the form to the High School Programs office.

Attend orientation!

  • Visit CE Orientation Scheduleor call the High School Programs office for the current orientation schedule.
    • Applications and course registration will be reviewed for accuracy.
    • Students will be instructed on how to access online resources for college success.
    • A campus tour will highlight key resources such as the Learning Assistance Center, PPCC Library, Student Services (student ID), Math Lab, Writing Center, and the High School Programs office.
