Brenda Lauer Joins PPCC as Interim VP of Administrative Services

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Aug. 7, 2012 – Pikes Peak Community College (PPCC) President Lance Bolton, Ph.D., is proud to announce and welcome Brenda Lauer as Interim Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services.
In her role, Lauer will serve as the Chief Financial Officer for the college. Specifically, she will oversee the areas Auxiliary Services, which includes the Bookstore, Food Services, Printing and Publications and Vending; Financial Services; Facilities Maintenance and Operations; Facility Planning and Construction Management; Contracting and Procurement; Information Technology Support Services; and Business Services.
Lauer has more than 25 years of experience in the educational arena. Most recently she served as Vice President for Administrative Services at Northeastern Junior College (NJC) in Sterling, Colo. She started at NJC in 1985 and served the institution as an instructor, division chair, student club advisor, athletics statistician, and most recently, a top-level administrator.
During the next month, Lauer will assist both NJC and PPCC in the transition plans for the offices of Finance and Administrative Services. She will join PPCC full-time on Sept. 1, 2012.
Outside of work, Lauer is actively involved with the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Association for Career and Technical Education and the Colorado Association for Career and Technical Education.
Lauer holds master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Oklahoma Baptist University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
