PPCC Mourns Loss of Frank Montera

Colorado Springs, Colo., - Jan. 16, 2013 - Frank Montera, Pikes Peak Community College adjunct faculty member, died unexpectedly yesterday, Jan. 15, 2013. Frank, a member of the Division of Communications, Humanities and Technical Studies, taught music and had been with the college since 1999.

“Yesterday we lost a great friend and colleague. The college sends our thoughts and prayers to his family as they go through this difficult time,” said Lance Bolton, PPCC President.

Any student, faculty or staff affected by Frank’s passing can take advantage of crisis counselors available through the college.  We encourage faculty members to reach out to students who may be affected by this and refer them to the counseling and resource center.

Students should contact Christine Chavez, PPCC Crisis Counselor, in the Student Counseling and Resource Center at 719.502.4688. Assistance for faculty and staff can be found through contacting the Colorado State Employee Assistance Program (C-SEAP) at 1.800.821.8154.

At this time the college does not have specifics about funeral arrangements.  However, as we know more, we will share this information with the campus community.
