PPCC Student Makes Appearance on American Idol

Jan. 23, 2012 – Colorado Springs, Colo. - Pikes Peak Community College (PPCC) student, Sean Hale, will be featured on American Idol, Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, 8 p.m. on Fox 21.

Hale, who is studying music education at PPCC and has been singing since the age of 2, began his quest in July 2011 at the American Idol auditions at Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver.

After making it through several rounds of auditions, Hale’s American Idol dream came to an end in October after auditioning for the celebrity judges, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson.

“The judges were all really nice, and I even got a kiss from Jennifer Lopez,” Hale said.  “But while they said I sounded great, they thought I wasn’t quite ready and encouraged me to try again next year.”

Hale, whose favorite artist is Stevie Wonder, sang Marvin Gaye’s classic I Heard it Through the Grapevine, at his audition. At this time he is not sure if he will try out for American Idol next year, or for The X Factor.
