Colorado Springs, Colo. – Jan. 11, 2013– Pikes Peak Community College (PPCC) President Lance Bolton, Ph.D., announces Patricia Diawara as the college’s new director of Institutional Research. In her role, Diawara will support college planning, decision-making, policy formulation and accreditation processes by analyzing and reporting data. She will also work on the college’s assessment and educational effectiveness efforts.

“I am excited to work at the second largest community college in the state – one where enrollment is growing,” said Diawara. “In bringing my experience in institutional research, strategic planning, accreditation, assessment and project management, I can contribute to the college’s vision of student success.”

Prior to joining PPCC, Diawara spent four years as the director of institutional research, planning and accreditation at Pueblo Community College. There she established and grew the Office of Institutional Research, spearheaded the college’s self-study report for the college’s re-accreditation and developed a series of workshops and templates to assist in assessing student learning outcomes. She also responded to data requests, prepared state- and federally-mandated reports, presented research reports, designed surveys and served as the chair of the Institutional Review Board.

Diawara got her start in research while living in her home country of France. She spent five years as project coordinator and research laboratory senior scientist in Brittany, France. During that time she coordinated a three-year research and development project funded by the European commission. She also published several articles in scientific journals and in 2011 co-authored an article published in the Journal of Leadership, Accountability and Ethics.

Diawara holds a doctorate in wood science and a master’s degree in organic chemistry, both from the University of Nancy, France. She also has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University, Pueblo.
