Kudos to Nancy Martinez & PPCC Testing Center
Kevin Johnson, May 10, 2012
Nancy Martinez, General Professional III, Facilities Maintenance & Operations, was selected by her peers as the current Classified Employee of the Year. Next spring, Martinez will attend a congratulatory luncheon with her fellow CCCS honorees, her portrait will be displayed in the President’s Office alongside a plaque where her name will be inscribed next to previous recipients’ names.
The anonymous employee nominating Martinez writes, “Once again, Nancy has demonstrated her skill and dedication not only to Fac/Ops department, but to the college as a whole.” They continue, explaining, “After the departure of our director, Nancy quietly but effectively stepped into a leadership role. Her straightforward and low-key approach helped calm a department left in turmoil. Her knowledge of various aspects of the department is surprisingly broad and her willingness to step forward with honest opinions, even if unpopular, is admirable. Always at hand to help with problems or to offer assistance, Nancy can also handle trouble with the deftness of someone seasoned and dedicated to customer service, a skill she readily promotes. [...] Those who bear these qualities should be brought to the forefront as examples for others to follow.”
We agree. Congratulations and thank you, Nancy, for your dedication and outstanding service to our institution.
Kudos to PPCC's Testing Center for supporting troops: Tami Hartman, General Professional III, Human Resource Services, wishes to give “a loud shout out” to the Testing Center as they so generously provide a care package once per month to a soldier who is currently serving in Afghanistan.
