| Pikes Peak Community College is making the jump to Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technology, or VDI, in the administrative computing system at the Centennial Campus. The move will result in a sharp reduction to our carbon footprint as well as significant, long-term cost savings and improved efficiency. Plus, it will free up a host of computing resources for student and academic use. | |

| Laura BenAmots, PPCC Art Gallery director and Art faculty, and three of her art students have pieces on display in the Dream City 2020 art exhibit showing at the Fine Arts Center’s FAC Modern gallery in the Palmer Center, 121 S. Tejon Street. The exhibit is part of the community-wide Dream City 2020 visioning process. Dream City 2020 is designed to inspire all citizens to come together to chart a vision for the future of the Pikes Peak Region. | |

| AMR Donates Funds for EMS SIM Lab | |
| American Medical Response ambulance service has donated $2,000 to the PPCC Foundation to enhance college’s Emergency Medical Services Program. The funds will be used to help build a Simulation (SIM) Lab to enhance the training of EMT and Paramedic students. | |

| March to Honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. | |
| A community-wide march will be held in downtown Colorado Springs on the evening of Sunday, January 18, to celebrate the birth date of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Pikes Peak Community College students and employees are invited to participate. | |

| Several individual students as well as an entire Drawing 1 class have created original works of art that will be a part of the College Artist Exhibit at the Smokebrush on display through December 17. Their work is in response to the Light of H.O.P.E., or “Helping Other People Everywhere,” project. | |

| Reynolds Heads Transition Training Academy for Wounded Soldiers | |
| Richard Reynolds, Cisco Coordinator and instructor, was recruited to implement the Transition Training Academy (TTA), a Wounded Warrior Project, for the local military community. The Academy provides innovative Information Technology training for veterans who have been wounded or injured on active duty. | |
| Furaus honored with national service award | |
| Vicki Furaus, Assistant Registrar/Veterans Affairs/International Students, received the 2008 Service Award from the National Association of Veterans Program Administrators (NAVPA). | |

| Pikes Peak Community College will be closed for the holidays from 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24 to 6 a.m. on Monday, January 5. Offices at all campuses will be open for business at regular hours beginning January 5. Spring classes begin Wednesday, January 21. | |
