The award-winning PPCC literary and arts journal, Almagre, is accepting submissions of art and literary pieces for the 2009 10th Anniversary Edition. Students, faculty and staff may enter your visual art (all forms), photography, digital art, poetry, stories, narrative essays, articles and more.
Robert Burns Memorial Poetry Contest: This year, Almagre is pleased to inaugurate a student poetry contest in honor of our late colleague and resident poet, Robert Burns. The winning entry will receive a $100 cash prize and publication in Almagre. We will consider all submitted poetry for this prize.
Entry Requirements:
LITERARY ENTRIES. All literary entries must be emailed to deidre.schoolcraft@ppcc.edu (Deidre Schoolcraft) as a Microsoft Word OR PDF file by Sunday, February 1, 2009. The subject line should read “For Almagre.” Hard copy and disc entries will not be accepted. Entries must contain: Your name, a phone number where we can reach you, and a valid email address. ART AND DIGITAL ART ENTRIES. Students participating in the Spring student art show will automatically have their work submitted to Almagre. All other visual art and photography entries for Almagre should be submitted to Laura Ben-Amots, (719) 502-3123, at the Downtown Studio Campus. Submit all digital art entries to Jenna Shearn or Kris Akse in room F-300 at the Centennial Campus, OR send them via email zip file to jenna.shearn@ppcc.edu or kris@krisakse.com.
