The PPCC Foundation Innovation Grants committee awarded almost $8,000 to deserving campus programs and departments. The Committee, comprised of Jenny Stafford, Jon Stepleton, Mary Piering, and Kimberly Barnett, received a total of $24,460.00 in grant requests from areas all across the college. Grants awarded include:
- $685 to the HENPS Division to create an "Immediate Need Scholarship" program, which will provide technical clothing and equipment to the Natural Resource Technology and Adventure Guide Program. - Deborah McDonald
- $1,500 to the Culinary Arts Club to provide seed money for a “Community Garden Project.” - Nathan Dirmberger and Rob Hudson
- $800 to the Math & Tech Division for “Semester Break’s Second Chance” program to provide software to assist struggling math students. - Marilyn Frydrych
- $1,093 to fund the “Construction of a Terrarium” for Biology students. - Lisa Hollis-Brown and Kristen Johnson
- $895 to provide the Student Crisis Counseling Office with “The Heartmath on Campus Stress Project” which will help students to manage stress. - Tobi Steinberg
- $1900 to the Library to fund “Adjustable Study/Computer Tables” for students with disabilities. - Carole Olds
- $750 to the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) for the creation of a video called “Mind the Gap,” to address the challenges of the transition from high school to college. - Mary Piering and Carrie Spencer
