| PPCC launches Colorado Springs’ first GEAR UP program |

| PPCC is the first college in the Pikes Peak Region to partner with Colorado GEAR UP, the state's program to prepare low-income students for college. GEAR UP, or ‘Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs,’ is designed to engage and enable Colorado's low-income and academically needy students and to encourage and support their path to college access and success. |

| 'Stratified Senses & Sensualities' Installation Exhibit |

If you missed the opening reception for Stratified Senses & Sensualities, you can still be engaged and thrilled by the exhibit. Every exhibit includes multiple sensory components to stimulate and involve you in the artist's exploration of human senses and emotion. Through April 3.

| ImagineNation Book Fair |

The Book Fair will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, March 11 and 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Centennial Campus Atrium. ImagineNation sells quality books, toys and gift items at affordable prices. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the PPCC Child Development Center.

| Laura BenAmots 'Works on Paper' in Downtown exhibit |

| Artwork by Laura BenAmots, PPCC Art faculty and Gallery director, is featured in an exhibit along with pieces by other regional women artists at The Warehouse, 25 W. Cimarron. An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Friday, March 13 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public. The artwork is for sale, and 20% of BenAmots’ proceeds will be donated to Women Build Project at Habitat for Humanity. Exhibit on display through April 5. |

| Culinary Arts Bake Sale |

| PPCC Culinary Arts students will hold another of their fabulous bake sales, showcasing their culinary talents and raising funds for the Culinary Arts Club. Tuesday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Centennial Campus Rotunda. |

| PPCC students entertain at Leadership Pikes Peak |

| PPCC music, voice, and dance students will provide the entertainment for the Leadership Pikes Peak annual event at Colorado College’s Cornerstone Building, 825 N. Cascade on Saturday, March 28 under the direction of Bill Malone, Ila Conoley, and Gayle Grace. They will provide string music accompaniment in the background during the silent auction, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and then music, dance and song for the on-stage performance from 7:30 to 8 p.m. The events are free and open to the public. |

| 2nd Annual PPCC Student Film Festival |

PPCC students will be showcasing their original short films in the PPCC Student Film Festival on Thursday April 2 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Centennial Campus Theater. The event is free and open to the public, and there will be door prizes and refreshments. The film festival is put on to encourage students to take Video Editing, Television Production, and MGD classes. Last years event was a big hit. Back by popular demand will be last year’s favorite film, "My Life My iPod."

| PPCC Nursing Faculty recognized by Goodwill Industries |

| Mary-Ann Wermers, Marilyn Russo, Vicki Bond, Joan Ims, and Mary Nifong in the PPCC Nursing department have won an award from Goodwill Industries. They will be honored at the organization’s annual dinner on April 14. “The Open Door Award” is being presented to them for their work with Goodwill At Home and the Career Development Center, for their efforts in helping the Goodwill program participants with a career ladder. |

| PPCC Students win Soroptimist Scholarships |

| On Tuesday, March 4, PPCC students Erin K. Frazee and Kelly Carter were selected to receive the Women's Opportunity Scholarship Awards by Soroptimist International of Colorado Springs. Both students are seeking Associates degrees in Education to become teachers. |

| PSEO Students win the silver in State HOSA competition |

Andrew Plotner, Eva Kautz, Vicki Eichinger and Kate Heimann, PPCC Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) students from Falcon, competed in the Colorado Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Bowl, a “jeopardy type” game where students compete against teams from all over the state. The students had to take a written test first, then team member scores were averaged together. The 18 teams with the highest scores moved on to the “game show” in the evening. The PPCC team came in second in the state and have qualified to go to Nationals in Nashville this summer.
