| Class of 2009 Graduation set for May 16 | ![]() |
The PPCC 2009 Graduation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Auditorium at the New Life Church, 11025 Voyager Parkway, just west of the PPCC Rampart Range Campus. While final numbers are not yet in, this year more than 1600 students will graduate. This high-energy family celebration is always fun, noisy and emotional, filled with tears and laughter, cheers and applause, and tremendous excitement. |

| Interior Design Students Compete to be Design Stars | ![]() |

The Interior Design Department is spearheading the Design for Hope project, to benefit Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the Pikes Peak Region. Ten teams of Interior Design students will compete to create innovative, unique designs that focus on sustainability, energy efficiency and environmentally friendly products. Judging will take place at a Gala Event on June 19, attended by Matt Locke of HGTV’s Design Star show. |

The PPCC Community Garden Project is off to a great start. In spite of cold and blustery spring weather, dozens of volunteers dug in to construct raised beds for the new garden at the "Blitz Build" on Saturday, April 11. |

| Spring Student Art Exhibit Opening Reception | ![]() |
| Celebrate Spring at the opening reception for the Spring Art Students' Exhibit, and enjoy an evening of Food, Music, and Art! The exhibit will feature the best of student artwork in drawing, printmaking, 2D design, 3D design, digital & film photography, computer art, watercolor, ceramics, stained & fused glass, jewelry metalwork, oil painting, and sculpture. Friday, May 8, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served, with live entertainment by the Alain Le Lait Trio. Free and open to the public. | |
| Japanese Students present "Nothing is Impossible: A Samurai Love Story" | ![]() |
| On Saturday, May 9, PPCC will present the 12th annual Japanese play, Nothing is Impossible: A Samurai Love Story. The beautifully costumed play was written by PPCC Japanese faculty Rieko Y. McAdams, and it is performed by students of the Japanese Language classes, with English narration by Mike Madson of KOAA TV 5/30. Japanese Consul General Mr. Kubo Kazuaki will be the Special Guest of Honor. Free and open to the public. | |

Career Tech students in a variety of programs competed at the State SkillsUSA competition in Denver. Those students who placed first qualified to compete at the National SkilsUSA competition in Kansas City, MO in June. |

Students from the Area Vocational Program at PPCC competed in the Health Occupations Students of America District competition in Denver, CO March 4-7. Numerous students won individual awards, and the PPCC HOSA Chapter also received awards. |
