Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be a pilot and fly your own plane wherever and whenever you like? Here’s your opportunity to get hands-on flight training combined with a solid knowledge base to prepare you to earn your Private Pilot license.
Pikes Peak Community College is partnering with local flight schools to offer Private Pilot Ground School (AVT 101) and Private Pilot Flight Training (AVT 102). The courses will prepare you to pass the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Exam and the Flight Practical Exam. The ground school class is offered at the Centennial Campus, and flight training will be held at the flight school of your choice. Special accommodations have been made for PPCC students through Peak Aviation. The classes can be taken separately or concurrently, and they can be taken for college credit or for non-credit.
Areas to be covered include airplane systems, aerodynamic principles, the flight environment, communications and flight information, meteorology for pilots, interpreting weather data, airplane performance, navigation, human factors principles, cross country flight, and Federal Aviation Regulations.
