Pikes Peak Community College and The Classical Academy (TCA) held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony August 27 for their pioneering new venture, a K-12 school built on the PPCC Rampart Range Campus. This partnership is the first of its kind in the nation, and streamlines education for students from kindergarten through the first two years of college.
TCA, Colorado’s largest “bricks and mortar” charter school, gained badly-needed space for K-12 students, at the same time PPCC gained 10 new dedicated classrooms, allowing the addition of hundreds of class sections to help accommodate skyrocketing enrollments. The joint effort provided outstanding benefits to both institutions, at considerable cost savings.
The Classical Academy is the largest Kindergarten through 12th grade public charter school in Colorado. TCA began in 1997 with 400 students, and now serves more than 2,600 students.
