| Printmaking Students Exhibit at Heebee Jeebees Gallery |

The Heebee Jeebees Gallery downtown at 318 E. Colorado Ave. is exhibiting the works of PPCC Printmaking students now through November 28. The works include linoleum cuts, drypoints and solar prints, with a focus on the printmaking process so the imagery varies widely. The gallery is open daily from noon to 6 p.m.

| PPCC Participates in All Pikes Peak Reads |
|

All Pikes Peak Reads is a community-wide effort to involve diverse groups of all ages to read and discuss the same books, to explore related relevant social issues, and to promote literacy. All Pikes Peak Reads 2009 book selections include Rocket Boys/October Sky, Have Space Suit Will Travel, The Space Tourist’s Handbook, and Community: The Structure of Belonging. PPCC events include The Space Foundation on October 14, and Space Flight in Fiction and Fact on October 15.

| PPCC Open Mic at Rampart! |

| Rampart students and staff - take a turn on stage during the PPCC Open Mic hour at Rampart Range campus on Thursday, October 15 in the Student Lounge. You can present material by your favorite author, or your own creations in poetry, free verse, comedy, music, and more -stand up and participate, or just enjoy the show. The event will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. to accommodate the All Pikes Peak Reads program. Sign up to participate starting at 9:45 a.m. **No Bands Please** |

| Get Your Discount Tickets for Air Force Football |

Discount tickets are available for PPCC students, staff and faculty to attend the Air Force Academy Football Game on Saturday, October 17. Kickoff is at 12:00 Noon. Tickets are $5 at any PPCC Campus Life Office and the Falcon Campus Enrollment Services Office. Limit 4 tickets, and must show valid PPCC ID or proof of employment. Sponsored by Campus Life.

| Art Opening Reception for Touches: Healing Art |

| The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak Community College and Colorado College faculty join with a community artist to bridge the worlds of art and medicine in Touches: Healing Art – a mixed media art exhibition at the PPCC Downtown Studio Art Gallery. The opening reception will be held on Friday, October 23, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Mango fan Django gypsy jazz band will perform. |

| Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony |

Have you ever wondered why some students get to wear the gold sashes during graduation? They are members of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor society for two-year institutions. The Alpha Gamma Alpha Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa will hold an induction ceremony for new members on Friday October 23 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. in the Rampart Range Campus Atrium. | PPCC presents the 2009 Fall Family Festival |

The Fall Family Festival is free for PPCC students, staff and Child Development Center families, and it’s loads of fun! Children ages 1-10 are invited to come and enjoy carnival games, door prizes, face painting, and more on Saturday, October 21, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Centennial Campus Gym. The games will be followed by a free pizza lunch starting at 11:30 a.m.
