From a group of more than 50 contenders, the Pikes Peak Community College Perkins program was selected by the Colorado Perkins Field Council as one that represents a promising or best use of Perkins funds in the state. The Perkins Field Council, composed of both educators and business/industry volunteers, advocates for Career and Technical Education (CTE).
The Council will visit PPCC to gather information to help prepare an annual report that summarizes highlights from outstanding career and technical education programs. The report will be distributed at the February, 2010 Colorado Association of Career and Technical Administrators’ (CACTA) Conference.
The College will have an opportunity to show off our Career and Technical Education programs during the group’s visit. Council volunteers plan to meet teachers, students, business and industry partners, secondary/ postsecondary partners and CTE administrators, and they also hope to see classroom experiences in their natural setting to collect information for the advocacy report.
