Book discussion and signing
Spring Literary Program

The PPCC Library and others are sponsoring a Spring Literary Conference in March. As part of the conference, there will be a discussion and book signing with five well-known local authors on Thursday, March 9 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Centennial Campus atrium.

The speakers and authors participating are:

Beth Ann Bassein, who will discuss Released into the Wild, a collection of essays, poems, and art celebrating the Rocky Mountains, written by Linda Wolfe and Charles H. Smith. Bassein is a retired professor from the University of Southern Colorado (now CSU - Pueblo), who taught in the English department. She has written two books and several collections of poetry. She is a regular volunteer at various nature centers and The Fine Arts Center.

Nancy Bentley, who will discuss her children’s book series, Nick Anderson, N.I., Nature Investigator Series (The Case of the Sneaky Stinger, The Case of the Garden Monster, and The Case of the Missing Bluebirds). Bentley has been a student, teacher librarian, media specialist and coordinator of information technology.

Karin Huxman, who will discuss her romance novel, Caught. Huxman has a Master of Fine Arts degree in writing from Norwich University. She taught writing to adults at a community college. Her published books have been about contemporary and paranormal romance.

Sandra S. Sanchez, who will discuss her family saga, Stillbird. Sanchez' primary literary influences are mythology from various cultures, the paintings of Breughel and medieval music. Sanchez practiced law for several years.

Hollie Snider, who will discuss her fantasy novel, For the Rank of Master. Snider is a founding member of the Colorado Springs Fiction Writer's Group. Her background in mythology and historical lore adds authenticity to her writing about monsters, myths and magic.
