How to Apply & Enroll

Once you have chosen the Charter School through whom you will apply, the process is relatively simple; just four steps, and one form!

Note: You may begin this process at any time.  However, to complete Step 3 below, you will have to have chosen a Charter School first.

 1. Apply for Admission to PPCC.

The entire enrollment process at Pikes Peak Community College begins with the Application for Admission.  You'll need your parent's driver's license and your own social security number to complete this step.  There is no charge on the application fee and the application process is easy.  Please, make sure you use parent information when answering the residency questions at the end of the admissions application.

And while you're applying for admission to the college be sure to apply for COF (the College Opportunity Fund).  The College Opportunity Fund, or "stipend," is money set aside by the state to invest in your education. This will give you the lowest tuition rate possible if you are an in-state resident.  If you missed this step while going through the application for admission process, just  Click Here  to apply for COF.

You'll know this step is complete when you have received your student ID number (we call it your "S" number).

2.  Take the ACCUPLACER Placement Test.

The Accuplacer Test is the placement test used by Pikes Peak Community College to determine the appropriate level of placement in college courses.  Note: The placement test can be waived if the student has ACT or SAT scores demonstrating college-level proficiency.  There is no cost the first time you take the Accuplacer test at PPCC.  There is no appointment necessary.

The Accuplacer Test is given at any of our four campus Testing Centers, located as follows:
Centennial Campus, Room A-117
Downtown Studio Campus, room D-114
Falcon Campus, Room 119
Rampart Range Campus, Room S-101

Some students have found it very helpful to practice for the Accuplacer test before taking the test.  To do so, simple Google "Accuplacer".  You'll find several sites that will offer you the opportunity to take Accuplacer practice tests.

3.  Consult with your Charter School Counselor, and complete the Concurrent Enrollment form.

To complete this step, you'll have to know what Charter School you will be attending.  There is a web page that lists the Charter Schools with whom PPCC has established partnerships.  You may  Click Here  to find information about our Charter School partners.

Once you have decided upon a Charter School to attend, you should make an appointment with one of their school counselors to choose the classes you would like to take at PPCC.  To make sure that you can find room in the classes you would like to take, you are well advised to start this process as early as possible.

While you are with the Charter School counselor, they will ask you to complete the form that will be your assurance that the Charter School will pay for your college classes.  The exact amount they will pay is up to the Charter School, so be sure to ask.  You and your parent will need to sign this form, as will the Charter School counselor and administration. They will then forward this form to the community college for processing.  Once that processing is complete, the community college will inform the Charter School that your holds have been released, and the Charter School will contact you to inform you may move on to Step 4 and register for your classes at PPCC.

4.  Register for your PPCC classes online.

Last, when you have been informed by the Charter School that all of the holds have been removed from your account, you may register for your classes online.  You can pick up a course catalog and schedule at any of our four campuses, or you may go online to look at both.  Simply go to our website and click on the "LOGIN" button.  You'll use your "S" number and PIN to get in to your account, and just follow the links to register for classes.

There you go!  You're on your way!

Once you have registered for classes, you can print your schedule, contact your Charter School to buy your books and supplies, attend an Orientation Session (see our High School Programs web page for times and dates), and show up for class every day.

If you have any questions about this process you may contact your Charter School counselor.
