Keeping Up on Your Loan History
The Department of Education has a great website that will allow you to search for information on your Federal Student Loans and Pell Grants:
NSLDS is the U.S. Department of Education's central database for student aid and offers a centralized, integrated view of Title IV loans and Pell Grants that are tracked through their entire cycle; from aid approval through closure.
Data is transmitted to NSLDS from schools, agencies that guaranty loans, the Direct Loan program, the Pell Grant program and other U.S. Department of Education programs.
Through NSLDS, you can view personalized information on your federal student loans or Pell Grants. You can also view information on your loan servicer(s). You will need your Federal Student Aid (FSA) PIN to get in. It is the same PIN that you used to apply for your FAFSA.
Once you access the website, select the numbered yellow button beside each loan within NSLDS that you would like information. You will be directed to loan detail information, which includes the name of the lender and the loan servicer as well as contact information.
