Dance
Dance as if the world was watching.
"Dancing in all its forms cannot be excluded from the curriculum of all noble education; dancing with the feet, with ideas, with words, and, need I add that one must also be able to dance with the pen?" – Friedrich Nietzsche
“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost.” – Martha Graham
“Dance is a metaphor for existence. All body movement contributes to the moment-to-moment wonder of living,” according to Colorado dancer, Erick Hawkins. In dance classes, students have the opportunity to learn and refine several genres of dance and movement techniques as well as exercise and express themselves artistically. Students discover how to work within groups while continuing to express individuality. Students will enjoy studying dance for several different reasons including to obtain an associate of arts degree with an emphasis in dance, for enrichment, for fitness, and for personal expression. Eight forms of dance are offered in addition to courses in history, choreography, and performance. Want to find out if this program is for you?
