Literature
Discover the great knowledge of the ages!
Many literature majors will say they chose their field of study because they loved to read. But the benefits of literature courses go beyond entertainment. By studying the major works of literature, you’ll gain insights into influential themes and ideas that stretch across history and cultures. This knowledge can enhance studies in other disciplines, including history, political science, philosophy, and psychology. Literature classes also examine the construction of fiction in order to understand the craft of writing stories, poetry, and plays. Accordingly, you can use literary studies to improve your own writing. These skills can transcend literary studies themselves and are a useful basis for a variety of careers.
