Colorado Springs -- Dec. 4 -- Pikes Peak Community College has been ranked as The Military Times "Best: Colleges 2018." Not only is PPCC the only two-year college in Colorado to receive this honor, it's only one of six schools from Colorado named in any category to do so.

"Our college's history of helping military and veterans transition into the civilian workforce is as old as the college itself, and we will continue to support this vital part of our community," said Paul DeCecco, PPCC's director of Military and Veterans Programs.

As with all Military Times rankings, Best Colleges 2018 is an editorially independent news project that evaluates the many factors that help make colleges and universities a good fit for service members, military veterans and their families.

The Military Times Best: Colleges 2018 rankings, formerly known as Best for Vets: Colleges, factor in the results of a comprehensive school-by-school assessment and data from the federal Education, Defense and Veterans Affairs departments to determine how schools stacked up across five categories: university culture, academic quality and outcomes, policies, student support, cost and financial aid.

Only 218 of the 600 colleges that took part in this year’s detailed survey received this designation.
