PPCC's Golden Gala celebrates 50 years of economic and personal impact

Colorado Springs – October 4, 2018 – Pikes Peak Community College is celebrating its 50th Anniversary with a major scholarship fundraising gala. The Golden Gala: Celebrating Success. Shaping the Future will take place 5:30 p.m., Saturday, October 27 at The Broadmoor International Center, 1 Lake Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.

This elegant celebration will feature a gourmet dinner and cocktails, a silent auction, a live auction featuring rare and unique PPCC-related items, and program highlighting the future.

For half a century, students have come here chasing their dreams. The college has played a fundamental role in helping them achieve those ambitions, and consequently, our community has more lab technicians, welders, zoo keepers, accountants, chefs, mechanics, roofers, environmental engineers, artists... the list goes on and on.

A recent study conducted by Emsi, a leading provider of economic impact reports, showed that PPCC has been contributing about more than $300 million annually to the Gross Regional Product (GRP).

But the impact has been seen on a more personal level as well.  It has transformed the lives of one of the most diverse groups of people who have lived and worked in our community for decades. Some of these stories will be told during the event. The public is invited to share their PPCC story at
