Colorado Springs, Colo. – Feb. 29, 2016 - Homer Wesley will join Pikes Peak Community College (PPCC) as its new vice president of Enrollment Services where he will lead Career Planning and Advising, the Child Development Centers, Dean of Students and Enrollment Services. Wesley will also serve as a member of the president’s Executive Leadership Team.
“After working closely with PPCC for nearly five years, I am honored to join such an innovative and passionate team,” Wesley said. “Helping community members of all ages, backgrounds and stations in life achieve the goal of a college education is both a fulfilling and exciting opportunity.”
“We are very fortunate to have Dr. Wesley join our team and take the reins of our Enrollment Services Division,” Lance Bolton, PPCC president said. “He brings well rounded experience within the various facets of enrollment, intimate knowledge of higher education in the Pikes Peak Region and is a seasoned leader.”Wesley served as vice chancellor of Student Success and Enrollment Management at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs since 2010. While there, his work and leadership were integral to the growth of UCCS in both recruitment and retention of students and the development of student programs.
Specifically, he lead the functional areas of registration and records, recruitment, admissions, financial aid, orientation, advisement, First Year Experience, retention, support of PeopleSoft student information software system, leadership programming, student activities, Greek life, judicial affairs, career services, diversity programs, disability services, testing, student conduct and support of students in crisis.
Wesley was responsible for fiscal and personnel management of a $13 million budget, a staff of 100 professionals and administration of $39 million federal and state aid.
Bringing more than 35 years of experience in student affairs to his new post, Wesley also held several leadership roles such as: vice president of Student Services at Mississippi University for Women, associate vice president of Student Affairs at the University of Southern Mississippi and assistant vice president for Enrollment Management at Auburn University. Additionally Wesley has served as director of the departments of Admissions, Recruitment, Orientation, High School Relations and Pre-College Counseling.
Wesley earned both his bachelor’s of science and master’s in education from Auburn University and his doctorate in education from the University of Southern Mississippi.
He and his wife Marion have a son Will (14) and three daughters Devon (36), Maggie (31) and Blair (26). In his spare time he enjoys cross-country skiing and cycling.
Pikes Peak Community College is in its 46th year of operation and has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission since 1975. It is a two-year college offering 175 associate degrees and various certifications in career and technical fields. With four campuses and two military education centers in El Paso County, PPCC serves approximately 22,000 students annually.
