The communication program is focused on helping our students develop communication skills for effective verbal and nonverbal behaviors in the area of public speaking, cultural interaction and inclusion, interpersonal relationships, group participation, and professional projects.

What do PPCC Communication students study?

We offer classes that guide students in developing effective verbal and nonverbal skills. Students who graduate from communication will exhibit:

Classes You Might Take

Combines the basic theory of speech communication with public speech performance skills. Emphasis is on speech delivery, preparation, organization, support, and audience analysis and delivery.
Examines the communication involved in interpersonal relationships occurring in family, social, and career situations. Relevant concepts include self-concept, perception, listening, nonverbal communication, and conflict.
Examines group communication theories with an emphasis on leadership and group behaviors. The course provides opportunities for group participation.
