Paralegal Degree and Certificates

PPCC offers an Associate Degree and Certificate options in the Paralegal program. We also offer robust night and weekend class options to accommodate both full time and part-time students.

Paralegal - Legal Assistant Degree

An Associate's degree is designed to prepare students to begin entry-level careers serving in crucial roles in law firms, corporations and government agencies. 

Transferring to PPCC

PPCC welcomes transfer students from American Bar Association (ABA) approved Paralegal Programs. Students transferring credit into PPCC's paralegal program may be required to take no less than fifteen (15) credits at PPCC to earn their degree.

 

Associate of Applied Science - Paralegal/Legal Assistant 

Graduates earning an AAS degree will be qualified to perform basic legal research, draft various legal documents, conduct client and witness interviews, participate in basic fact-finding and investigation, and assist in trial preparation. They will also be knowledgeable about the rules of professional and ethical conduct.

Graduates are not authorized to practice law. The Paralegal program provides training to perform substantive legal work under the supervision of a licensed attorney.

Legal Technician Certificate

This certificate program offering is only available to those students who possess (at the time of entry to the program) a Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university. Students not possessing an approved degree must enroll in the Paralegal Associate of Applied Science program.

Legal Technician Certificate 

This certificate is designed for college graduates interested in gaining critical skill necessary to work in the legal support industry.
