Hands-On Projects for Students

PPCC is part of the NASA-funded Colorado Space Grant Consortium. Every Spring semester, students have the opportunity to design and build a payload for a high altitude balloon flight as part of the DemoSat program. Watch an experiment that you designed soar to 100,000 feet above the Colorado plains!

The DemoSat project is a great way to get practical science and engineering experience. Students learn about computer programming, payload design, and analyzing results all while collaborating with other students.

Former DemoSat students have participated in the NASA RockOn workshops, the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars program, and the Colorado Undergraduate Space Research Symposium. You will gain hands-on experience that looks great to transfer schools and future employers.
