Be Prepared for this Semester The first week of school is awesome. Halls are abuzz with students, and you have a fresh set of books full of information you are about to learn. Kick it off right with some of these tips:

Tip 1: Know Your Campus

PPCC has 3 main campuses and 4 learning centers. Your schedule should say the campus and the room number.
The campuses are as follows:

  • PCE is Centennial
  • PDO is Downtown
  • PRR is Rampart

One new location is the Construction Classroom, called Spire Manufacturing. It's at 1440 N. Newport Road. You can see more about our campuses and learning centers here.

Tip 2: Know Your Parking Lots

Because of construction on our Centennial campus, we have a Temporary Drop Off Zone in the E (East) lot. We hope to have the regular drop off on the north side open by Sept. 11.

You can find out more about parking on each campus on our parking page.

Tip 3: Know Your Class Schedule

Other abbreviations besides the campus designations can be confusing. Days of the week, for instance: TR stands for Tuesday and Thursday.

Tip 4: Bring a Snack.

Seriously, you need some fuel for that big beautiful brain. Each main campus has food options ranging from vending machines, to our full-service cafés on Centennial and Rampart Range Campuses and restaurants walking-distance from our Downtown Studio Campus.

Tip 5: Get to know Your Professor

PPCC has small class sizes making it easier to get to know your professor. The more you can communicate with them, the more you will understand what their expectations are and what you can do to be successful in class.

Tip 6: Check the Syllabus

Instructors have a syllabus for each class. The syllabus is like a road map of all the things you need to do in order to complete the class. You can also find your instructor's contact information or when your next assignment is due. Review your syllabus and log important dates in your calendar.

Tip 7: Enjoy School

It seems like school might last forever but it won’t. Try to immerse yourself in the learning experience. Get to know your classmates and attend some campus events. The first week is welcome week. Keep you eyes open for all kinds of events and ways to engage!

Tip 8: Use Campus Resources

PPCC offers tutoring services, advising, counseling along with student government, global village, and many clubs. Get involved!
