The Pin Project, A Taste of PPCC
Our former students are all over the map. Chefs and restaurant managers who studied at Pikes Peak can be found everywhere, and their greatest culinary impact can be found at Pikes Peak area restaurants. This map locates some of them. If you know somebody who we've missed, please fill out the form below.
"I hated school growing up, but Pikes Peak was different. PPCC provided me the discipline, structure and community that I needed to not only graduate into a well-paying position but catapult me into the upper echelon of my field."
-- Nathan J. Dirnberger, Executive Chef/Assistant Director, Food and Nutrition Services at Colorado Springs School District 11
"I was retired from the Army and wanted to start my own restaurant, but there was so much about the business I didn't know. Then I saw that Pikes Peak has an accredited program that has all the bases covered. I ended up with amazing instructors and an invaluable educational experience."
-- Maylen Gaspar, Gypsy Pizzeria
"The knowledge and skill sets I gained at PPCC were necessary tools in becoming the business owner I am today. The small classroom setting granted us valuable face time with our Chef instructors that wouldn’t have been possible in a larger school environment. I recommend PPCC to anyone who tells me they want to work in the food service industry."
--Andres Velez, Owner of Piglatin Foodtruck
"I went to Pikes Peak to study education, and I am in my field. I use food as the medium for my teaching."
--Liz Rosenbaum , CEO and Chef of Her Story Cafe
"PPCC helped me get where I am."
--Jonathan Wood, Executive Sous Chef at The Navigators at Glen Eyrie Conference Center
"What I enjoyed the most about PPCC was the camaraderie between the students in the culinary field. The knowledge/techniques and individualized attention that I received from my instructors has aided me on my culinary journey to Senior Executive Chef."
-- Jacqueline Hamilton, U.S. Olympic Training Center
"As a professional Chef with more than 30 years experience I had not previously attended culinary school. I decided to attend classes at Pikes Peak Community College while I taught in order to obtain my degree in culinary arts."
-- Mark S. Painter, Sous Chef
