Make More of Your Summer
If you have been away at college and are in the Pikes Peak region for the summer, you can take classes at PPCC to get ahead. It's easy to transfer credits back to your home college or university after the summer semester ends. With PPCC's low tuition rates, you could save hundreds if not thousands of dollars by taking the classes at PPCC.
1. Apply to Pikes Peak Community College
Your first step is to submit your PPCC Admissions Application. The application is free and takes about 15 minutes to complete.
If it has been more than 3 semesters since you applied to PPCC or registered for a class at PPCC, you will need to reapply to active your account.
2. Find your class
Use the online course catalog to find a class you want to take. To make sure the credits will transfer and count toward your degree at your home college or university, contact their advising office or registrar’s office.
3. Submit the form
Submit your information to receive the pre-requisite override to register for the classes you want to take.
Tip: Attach a copy or screenshot of your current college transcript. The transcript should display your name, your home college's name, and the courses you are taking and have completed.
Please note that not all programs and courses are available to visiting students (e.g. competitive entry programs such as NUR - Nursing courses).
4. We will contact you
Our Academic Advising and Testing Office will be in touch with you soon letting you know you can register for the course(s).
Tip: You will not be able to register for the course(s) until the Academic Advisor has input the pre-requisite override.
Paying for your classes at PPCC
As a visiting student, you are not eligible for aid through PPCC - but
- if you are currently receiving financial aid at your home institution, where you are pursuing a degree, and
- if you are taking classes at PPCC that you plan to transfer to your home institution for your degree
you can contact the Financial Aid Office at your home institution to determine if your PPCC classes are eligible for financial aid.
If you plan to pay out of pocket for your summer classes, please make payment arrangements with our Student Accounts Office if you have not already done so.
